Individual Counseling
Because Even the Strongest Need Support

At First Responder Recovery, we believe first responders deserve mental health care that understands the job—and the toll it can take. If you work in law enforcement, fire service, EMS, dispatch, or are active or retired military, you know the reality: long shifts, life-or-death decisions, traumatic calls, and the unspoken rule to “keep it all together.”

You carry heavy things. Maybe too much.
And while your training taught you to push through, it may not have taught you how to unpack the weight when the call ends.

We’re here to change that.

A Safe, Confidential Space to Be You

Whether you're dealing with the impact of a critical incident, cumulative stress, burnout, sleep issues, anxiety, depression, moral injury, or relationship strain—you don’t have to go through it alone.

Our clinicians specialize in working with first responders and military personnel. We understand the culture, the code of silence, the hypervigilance, and the pressure to perform. More importantly, we know how to help. In counseling, there's no judgment—only support, understanding, and the tools to help you feel more like yourself again.

How We Work

We tailor therapy to you—your needs, goals, and preferred communication style. Whether you’re talkative or more reserved, whether you’ve been to therapy before or this is your first time, we meet you where you’re at.
Our approach is:
-
Culturally competent – We’re familiar with first responder culture and values, and many of our team members have direct personal or professional connections to first responder and military life.
-
Trauma-informed and evidence-based – We’re trained in modalities like Brainspotting, EMDR, TF-CBT, CBT, and other proven therapies that help process trauma and rebuild resilience.
-
Strengths-based – You’ve already developed powerful tools to survive and serve. We help you build on those strengths to support long-term healing and growth.
-
Flexible – We offer both in-person and telehealth sessions and will collaborate with you to find a pace and plan that works.

What to Expect

From the first session, you’ll be met with respect, privacy, and a no-pressure environment. We’ll work together to identify what’s going on beneath the surface and figure out a plan that supports your goals—whether that’s managing symptoms, improving relationships, or just having a space to let it all out.

Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about supporting the part of you that’s already fighting to heal.

You’re Not Alone. And You Don’t Have to Be.

First responders are used to running toward danger, toward chaos, toward others in need. But when it comes to your own mental health, it can feel like there’s nowhere to turn.

Let this be your place.
To speak freely.
To rest.
To recover.
To reconnect.

We’re here to walk with you—wherever you are on your path to healing.
